Rabbit Clubs in the UK

The governing body for the Rabbit Fancy in the UK is the British Rabbit Council which has lists of Local, National, and Specialist Clubs.  The list contains the names and phone numbers of the organisers.  If you are in Scotland go direct to the Scottish Rabbit Clubs site.  The British Rabbit Council also has local advisors who can give advice on any aspect of rabbit keeping.

The London Championship Show which includes rabbits, guinea pigs and rodents is to be held in Reading on 3rd and 4th September 2006.

Clubs are organised by location and breed. Some breeds may have breed clubs in several parts of the country.  It is the rabbit clubs that organise most of the shows in the UK.  Local clubs often hold specialist breed shows and these are a good place to make contact with breeders of specialist rabbit breeds from further afield.  Rabbit clubs are a good place to get to know the various breeds and breeders of rabbits.

Pedigree rabbits in the UK are rung.  That is they have rings put on their feet when they are babies to identify them as being bred by a BRC registered breeder.  You do not have to have a rabbit with a ring on it's leg to enter in the pet class at shows or to join a rabbit club.
